    Locking mechanism fail

Posted by Right Coast Painter in purdy on Nov 5th 2019

The power lock mechanism isnt very powerful. The extension now slides back with little resistance rendering this a non extending 4 pole now. Very unsatisfactory, especially since there seems to be no way to fix or replace the locking parts. This parts failure can also cause an accident on the job site costing much more than this pole is worth. I wish Purdy would go back to its old locking mechanism that has preset notches on the octagonal extension I have a 2-4 pole that has lasted well over 10 years of hard use, but I guess Purdy cant make money when tools last too long huh!

    Great idea bad locking mechanism

Posted by Djrpainting13 in purdy on Nov 5th 2019

I love the pole lineup. I love the quick release.. In fact I have every size: 8-16ft. 4-8ft. 2-4ft(several of these) 1-2ft I use the 2-4ft the most and all three that I had the locking mechanism failed and it didn't hold in place of it seized up and would move. I bought more than one after this happened because I really do love Is the quick release roller handles the the pole combo together. If they could figure out the pole failures it would be flawless. I will say I won't buy anymore until its figured out.
